Crazy week…
Well it’s been half term and my two have been at home. I can usually cope by baking more in the evenings leaving the days a bit more free for the children – not this week! The National Trust Tyntesfield Estate launches tomorrow and they asked Hill Cottage Bakery to supply them with enough cakes and bakes for the launch day celebrations!! That meant that on top of my usual orders this week I had to produce an enormous amount of extras…eeeek! In the end it turned out to be quite interesting: I learnt how many cakes I can actually produce in one day when pushed to the limit, I discovered my children can entertain themselves for long periods of time without getting bored, I learnt the benefit of a Nintendo DS (!), I learnt my little car’s absolute capacity for delivery and I got a sneak preview of the new Tyntesfield Estate. A very interesting (if hardworking) week but a wonderful opportunity for Hill Cottage to provide cakes for the National Trust. Best of luck to everyone up at the Estate for tomorrow’s grand launch…Amanda
